Privacy Policy
Effective from: January 1, 2025 · Last updated: January 1, 2025
1. Introduction
At Houston Delivery Services ("we", "our", "the Company"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our delivery services.
This policy is written with reference to applicable privacy regulations, including GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act), to the extent they apply to you.
2. Information We Collect
Personal information:
- Full name and contact information
- Email address and phone number
- Pickup and delivery addresses
- Billing and payment information
- Restaurant or commercial establishment information
Driver applicant information:
- Personal information and identification documents
- Driver's license and vehicle registration
- Vehicle insurance information
Technical information:
- IP address and device information
- Location data during deliveries
- Cookies and session technologies
- Platform activity logs
- Usage information and preferences
3. How We Collect Information
We collect information directly from you when you register a business account, request or fulfill a delivery, submit a driver application, or contact us. We collect technical information automatically as you use our website and platform — for example, session cookies that keep you signed in, and location data from the driver app during an active delivery.
4. How We Use Information
We use your personal information for the following purposes:
- Provide and manage delivery services
- Process payments and financial transactions
- Communicate with you about your deliveries
- Verify identity and perform security checks
- Improve our services and user experience
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
- Prevent fraud and malicious activities
- Send important service updates
5. Payments
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full card number on our own servers — Stripe handles card data directly under its own security standards (PCI DSS). We retain the billing and transaction records necessary to invoice your business account and provide statements.
6. Delivery / Dispatch Providers
Delivery assignment, driver location during an active delivery, and delivery-status updates are managed through Cartwheel, our dispatch and driver-app platform. Cartwheel receives the order and location data necessary to assign, route, and track a delivery — it does not receive your payment information.
We use Google Maps to validate and geocode pickup and delivery addresses so a route can be planned and a delivery correctly routed.
7. Driver Applicant Information
If you apply to drive with us, we collect the information necessary to evaluate your application and, if approved, to remain compliant while you drive: your name, contact information, date of birth, driver's license, and auto insurance documentation. Your application, agreement acceptance, and training-acknowledgement records are retained as evidence that you reviewed and accepted the terms that governed your application, and are never altered after the fact.
We do not collect banking or direct-deposit information as part of the driver application.
8. Communications and SMS
If you consent to receive SMS text messages and phone calls from us related to your application or, if approved, your deliveries, that consent is recorded and used only for that purpose.
Text-message originator opt-in data and consent are never sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
11. Data Security
We implement technical and organizational security measures to protect your data:
- Data encryption in transit and at rest
- Strict access controls
- Continuous security monitoring
- Regular security reviews
- Secure backups and recovery plans
12. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to continuously provide our services, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
Typically, account data is maintained for 7 years after account closure to comply with tax and legal requirements.
13. Your Privacy Choices / Rights

15. Third-Party Services and Links
Our platform relies on the third-party services named in this policy (Stripe, Cartwheel, Resend, Google Maps) to operate. Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies in addition to this one. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any third-party website you may reach through a link on our site.
